Mentoring

In the pipeline for a number of years, this new venture was finally Introduced in Christmas 2007, thanks to a request from Notley High School. We are now working with various students in Year 11 who are preparing for their GCSE exams. It's our job to become good friends to them and work through an struggles they may have in particular school areas, hopefully raising grades in the process. Due to the nature of the meetings, we can also establish if there are any issues at home or in their personal life that they may wish to share.

The school have many mentors coming in to the school, as it seems to suggest that students share more with trusted visitors than those that dish out detentions! Either way, we are enjoying this new area of our work and can see it growing in popularity in the coming months.
